A trailhead is the point at which something begins. This is the place that you gather everything that you need and get ready to start your hike. Along the way you will encounter some obstacles, have to make adjustments, and find your way back to the path.
Change is a good thing and you are open to changing something in your life. Here you will get honesty, patience, active listening, and a goal setting experience that will give you the coping skills and direction that is desired. There is always something more out of life to explore and discover. That is what Trailhead Wellness is all about. This will be a challenging experience but could be a breakthrough opportunity for you to discover what is possible.
My path through life lead me to counseling in a very different way. I was working for a major corporation and decided this was not my path. I left my job, returned to school, and it was the best change that I ever made. I love what I do and the people that I am able to meet. I have what some may call a different approach to counseling in that I am direct and feel that there is a fire inside each and every one of us. I believe every trail connects and we just have to look at the map every once in a while.
I have worked with Military Veterans since I left graduate school and have a passion to bring a different perspective to those who have served. I have worked with Veteran Treatment Courts, higher education, and those in the Department of Veterans Affairs. I have a holistic approach in the way I operate meaning I feel that everything is connected.
My mental health experience has also lead me into working with individuals that have not served in the military. I have worked with youth, parents, and have assisted those that feel like they have explored all of their options. I have a commitment to my clients to assist them throughout their journey and work together to find the best solution.
